XV century origins
Llontop Cuncuyá descended from Chumbi, governor of Chuspa Chimu, Callancas and Reque, who lived during the Inca domination in the second half of the fifteenth century. Throughout the centuries, Monsefú chiefs, all Llontop, established a series of alliances and intermarried with leading families in the area. They are also descended from Farrochumbi Fays, Ferreñafe chiefs and Lambayeque, who is believed to come from another dynasty, founded near 1350, the first governor Chimu Pongmassa.
